I AM SUPER EXCITED!!!
So last month, my supervisor with his friends, David and Stephie, me, accompanied by my friend, Izzah, went on for a small trip to on of the Buda side hill, to trap European-insectivorous-bats!
*screaming excitedly*
Won’t reveal the location to you guys, but it is not very far from where I live, and it is super cool, as the whole forest type is waaayyyyyy different from Malaysian forest. For example, I don’t have to care whether there is a leech or not! And the floor is pretty clear, unlike the rain forest. But most importantly, YOU WON’T SWEAT because, well, its not hot and humid like Malaysia.
But I guess the weather is a bit challenging for me.
It s super, super cold as it gets darker. Even with 4 layers of clothing, I guess I underestimated the weather. After setting up the net, we waited for a while, and David generously prepared some hot tea for us, to tone down my shakiness. Ha ha!
We were chatting and having our dinner before we continue to check our trap. And for this trip, even though we only caught 4 individuals, but I was so happy to get to know the Hungarian bats. To compare, I would say European bats’ fur is really fluffy, and they were so nice, not a single bite from them, even from the big one 🙂
Can’t wait to see more of them next Spring! Stay warm and hibernated during Winter, fellow babies.
