Smart Acoustic Device

So many monitoring, yet so little money. I know some acoustic devices can be overwhelming with the price, and you are still waiting for the grant money but the clock is ticking. It is the same for us too. Sigh

We will do experiments around different types of common surfaces around us, and observations around solar panel too, where we wanted to compare bats behavior between sites per night, which means we probably need about a dozen of acoustic devices. Well, we will use it basically, for everything, actually.

But, to buy one is hard, let alone a dozen for our project!

Hey, seems that a new smart, but way cheaper acoustic device have come at the rescue! Phew!

Our colleague, have introduced us to one of the newest device that fit our project perfectly. AudioMoth is one of the low cost, open acoustic device, that is used for monitoring wildlife, designed by Open Acoustic Device team. Now, we could use this power-efficient low cost device to listen for ultrasonic bat calls for only $60 per device! Hoorah

Did I mention that it is small and cheap?
